Bòggina B
Bòggina B is produced from plants of Tuscan Trebbiano selected in Valdarno and planted in the ‘70s at Petrolo in the “Poggio” vineyard. They have been recently replanted below the Bòggina vineyard using the same original clones.
Trebbiano of Valdarno was known since ‘300 for its quality, it was sent to the popes in Rome and the court of Florence.
Bòggina B was born in 2014 as a tribute to the renowned white wines of Valdarno of the past.

Vinification
Manual harvest in crates. Grape selection with sorting table. Natural vinification with native yeasts in tonneaux.
Aging
“Sur lies” for over 15 months in specially selected French oak tonneaux. The constant batonnage the wine receives during the first months is then gradually decreased. The wine is never racked until bottling.
Petrolo Bòggina – The Label
We at Petrolo, vine-growers in Vald’Arno di Sopra, disciples of Nepo di Galatrona, by our Eraclitean, dionysian-epicurean-lucretian, hermetic-fician, leonardian neo-platonic and giorgionesc neo-aristotelic tradition, culture and education, romantic and revolutionary, believe that God is in all things and that the earth itself is God; that all is fertile, vital, lush and luscious. That man is linked to heaven through his di-vine element and is in all things and all places and lies at the centre of the ramified, complex construction of animal and vegetable beings: he is the heart of that infinite relationship between all things that is the Universe-World.
We men and women vine-growers racing towards the future and leaping ahead, are moving backwards to original, ancient things. We believe that the revelation of the world’s breath is silence and that only silently standing and listening does nature at times appear to us, occult and enigmatic, like flashes of memory tracing the future for us in di-vine ways vigorous from inside to out; from bottom to top; from future to past. And we believe that wine, a great wine, is the poetic alchemic transformation of nature into culture.
Only with light hands and a kind heart can we bend nature to our emotions, making it more human and more beautiful; like reality imagined in a dream. Wine is nature dreamt by man, thus enhanced by sentiment. A great wine, a magnificent wine is nature transfigured; only at the moment it is drunk does it self-ameliorate and heightens nature itself, arousing desire and nostalgia. All nature lies in wine but wine is not nature alone.
